connTEXT – language with background has developed from personal experience. When the founder, Sarah Connelly, moved for love from the UK to Germany in 1995, she felt the culture shock in some areas personally. Because a “different country“ is not only about a different language but also about lots of small cultural differences.

These personal experiences gave Sarah, who grew up in a British teaching family herself, the idea. It’s not just the language that’s important, but all the “trappings“ – cultural peculiarities, specific words, and customs, understanding how people “tick“. And these differences can only be seen and perceived when one takes an external view of the culture.

English has evolved to the “international language“. That’s why connTEXT’s English language coaching is not limited to British English – it’s internationally oriented. Learning content is shaped by the respective culture, but always with a global perspective.
